Senegal presents the findings of its National Energy Efficiency Strategy

A workshop took place in Dakar on Thursday 10 September 2026 to present the draft National Energy Efficiency Strategy and Action Plan (NEESAP), the Energy Performance of Buildings (EPB) guidelines and the Minimum Energy Performance Requirements (MEPR), developed with the support of the European Union-funded Continental Energy Programme in Africa (CEPA). About 60 energy efficiency stakeholders from Senegal came together at the invitation of the Agency for the Economy and Management of Energy (AEME), under the Ministry of Energy and Petroleum (MEP), for a results-sharing workshop on the modelling and strategy development work carried out over recent months.…

The celebration program for the Golden Jubilee of the establishment of Revolution School was officially opened at the sub-zonal levels in the Northern Red Sea Region on 17 September under the theme “Vibrant Commemoration: New Impetus for Nation Building.” At the opening event in Massawa, Mr. Tewolde Kelati, Minister of Marine Resources, and Ms. Asmeret Abraha, Governor of the Northern Red Sea Region, officially opened a photo exhibition. The program, which will continue until 20 September, will feature a musical concert, sports competitions, and seminars. Similar programs are also being conducted in the sub-zones of Nakfa, Afabet, and Ghinda.…

Zambia: Peace Corps Volunteers Sworn In

United States Peace Corps in Malawi welcomed 11 new volunteers who will serve in the country’s health and education sectors. The new volunteers were celebrated at a swearing-in ceremony which also coincided with Peace Corps’ 65th anniversary. Over the next two years, these Volunteers will live and work alongside Malawian communities, advancing the shared goals of development, mutual understanding, and friendship. Since 1963, more than 3,000 Peace Corps Volunteers have served in the Warm Heart of Africa, continuing a legacy of partnership and people-to-people connections. US Fintech Azamra Eyes Cameroon Diaspora Capital, BEAC Cross-Border Payments Pilot

New York-based fintech Azamra is exploring a mechanism to enable investment by the Cameroonian diaspora through the National Social Insurance Fund, CNPS. The company is also holding discussions with the Bank of Central African States, BEAC, on a cross-border payments pilot. The initiatives were disclosed by the U.S. Embassy in Cameroon, which said Azamra specializes in blockchain-powered tokenization solutions for government bonds and digital payment systems. The company is led by Cameroonian-American founder and CEO Leah Malla Rackovsky and is headquartered in New York, with operations in Cameroon.…
