Cameroon has approved a 2027 work plan for a fish farming project aimed at increasing local supply as the country continues to spend heavily on imported fish. The steering committee of the Inland Fish Farming Sector Promotion Project, PROFIP, validated the plan at a meeting in Yaoundé on September 15, according to the Ministry of Livestock, Fisheries and Animal Industries. The plan includes technical training for fish farmers, improved access to quality fingerlings and feed, and measures to strengthen distribution and market access for farmed fish. It also calls for an assessment of the sector and steps to improve its organization.…
