Cameroon Plans End-February 2027 Completion of CFAF71.9bn Water Project
Cameroon plans to complete the second phase of its Nine-City Drinking Water Supply Project by the end of February 2027, with works across five cities now 84.25% complete, according to the Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation, CAMWATER. The CFAF71.86 billion program covers Maroua, Garoua, Garoua-Boulaï, Yabassi and Dschang. It is expected to add 42,700 cubic meters to daily drinking water production capacity, 10,100 cubic meters of storage and more than 250 kilometers of distribution networks. Thermosun Moves CFAF500bn Cameroon Waste-to-Energy Project Forward
Thermosun Cameroon has signed a framework agreement with the Institute for Geological and Mining Research, IRGM, as it advances a waste-to-energy project valued at more than CFAF500 billion in Yaoundé, Douala and Ebolowa. The agreement, signed on September 10, 2026, brings IRGM into the project to provide research and technical support, including waste characterization, energy and environmental studies, technology transfer and training. According to state-owned Cameroon Tribune, the project is expected to process 1,866 tons of municipal waste per day and develop about 305 MW of energy capacity. It is also expected to produce hydrogen and other by-products from treated waste.…

The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Central Government is disappointed that Gulu Regional Referral Hospital continues to use a manual payroll system despite government is running a digital one. The MPs now fear that the manual system could facilitate the misuse of public funds meant for pensioners and retirees. The committee was responding to findings in the Auditor General’s Report for the Financial Year 2024/2025, which revealed that Gulu Hospital paid Shs133 million over three months to 22 staff members who had either retired, transferred, absconded from duty or died.…

The Government will in October 2026 commence implementation of the Development Response to Displacement Impacts Project Phase II [DRDIP II], a $328 million programme targeting three million refugees and host community members. The Minister for Disaster Preparedness and Refugees, Hon. Sam Engola, announced this while appearing before the Committee on Presidential Affairs chaired by Hon. Martin Mapenduzi Ojara, on Tuesday, 15 September 2026.
