Shumba Energy Limited is a Botswana-based company. The principal activities of the Company and its subsidiaries are investing in the development of its thermal coal resources and reserves to generate sustainable base-load power generation and production of clean burning liquid fuels for Botswana self-sufficiency and export energy sources to the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region; to invest in sustainable energy, including energy fuels, thermal energy, solar energy, and coal/energy trading. Its operations include Sechaba Mine and SCIPP Project, Mabesekwa Mine and MEIPP Development, and Morupule South Mine Project. The Mabesekwa project area contains two elements, the Mabesekwa No.1 Mine and independent power plant and the Mabesekwa No.2 Mine and Tsosoloso Coal to Liquids Plant. Its subsidiaries include Shumba Resources Ltd, Shumba Coal Trading Ltd, Shumba Energy (Proprietary) Limited, Shumba Energy South Africa (Pty) Ltd, Morupule South Resources Limited.
