Alteo Agri Ltd is a Mauritius-based company, which is principally engaged in sugar, renewable energy and property sectors. The Company operates through three segments: sugar, energy and property. The sugar segment includes planting and harvesting of sugar cane and other food crops, sugar cane milling and sugar refining. It produces and refines sugar for a variety of markets, including Mauritius, Kenya and Tanzania. The energy segment operates bagasse/coal power plants to supply steam and electricity. This energy powers its factories and is exported to the national grids. It owns and operates three power plants in Mauritius and Tanzania and exports approximately 340-gigawatt hours to the grid every year. The property segment promotes, markets and sells villas, apartments and serviced land and operates an 18-hole championship golf course located at Anahita. Its property cluster manages, develops and markets its substantial land and real estate assets along Mauritius’ east coast.
